 A cold cloth to her forehead brought Kathrine back to her senses. She saw her mother, Ira, standing over her and rubbing the damp cloth down. "Mom..." she grumbled weakly. Ira shushed her quietly, shaking her head in disapproval as it seemed Kate was getting worse by the minute. The squeaking of wheels pierced the sudden silence.           "Kate? Can you hear me?" Dale asked, appearing into view. To her, his voice was distant and muffled, almost like she were underwater. He turned to Jess, whom was out of view. "She just... became like this?"
